Really meet and understand the Hauraki Gulf!
Auckland is known as "the City of Sails"*. It is surrounded by harbours, wonderful beaches, islands and unspoilt natural beauty. The city is on the shore of the Hauraki Gulf Maritime Park! And Aucklanders love their boating, love their sailing! It is our stunning marine environment which "makes Auckland make sense".
So we hope you'll find the time to come explore the Waitemata Harbour and the islands of the Gulf with us.
Mike and Dee Pignéguy have been showing the Hauraki Gulf to visitors for over 25 years, and their comfortable 44ft Beneteau yacht ‘Zuben’, can be your home from half-a-day to two full days while you experience some of New Zealand’s best boating areas.
Mike and Dee are keen to share their knowledge of local history and of our flora and fauna with you while exploring the wonderful islands of the Inner Hauraki Gulf and Maritime Park – or just teach you how to sail.
They have some great trips planned for you which will fit into half or full days, or a two day sailing adventure discovering the places that Aucklanders love, beside their rugby fields!
For all our trips you can either book ‘Zuben’ exclusively for just yourself for any of the trips, or get together with some friends for some fun afloat! The maximum number for half and full day trips is six, but for the two day (or longer) trips, two couples are the maximum.
‘Zuben’ has a large covered cockpit which is excellent for entertaining. Down below each cabin has a double bunk and its own en-suite. A large saloon allows people to spread out during the day and is great for dining in the evening with some soft music playing on the sound entertainment system.
Come with us and see what the ‘City of Sails’ really has to offer: great sailing, island walks, empty beaches, great sheltered anchorages, and we’ll even try and rustle up some dolphins for you!
‘Zuben’ is berthed at the Bayswater Marina on Auckland’s North Shore, just a 10 minute ferry ride from Downtown Auckland ( we shall meet you upon your arrival), or a 20 minute drive from the city. There is plenty of parking at the marina.
